Slide html container

Hi, thanks a lot or this great theme! I would like to begin with a gallery displaying a first page with a short description and a selectable thumbnail of the story. I now added a

-element with an additional picture and text. It appears in the html code but the js-script doesn't push it into the visible block. Obviously it just takes the link in a "a href"-element and push that into a img-element. Is there an option how I could start the galery with an empty slide just with text? Does someone have an idea? As written, i managed it getting an additional li-element with a thumbnail and text but i don't know how to display the text and get it into the visible area? Thanks!!
