Not showing ads and not collecting them
I'm using the latest version of AdNauseam after replacing uBlock. When using this extension, all ads disappear, even though ad collection and click tracking are enabled.
I've tried disabling other extensions, but that doesn't work. When I disable AdNauseam, the ads reappear, but if I re-enable it, they don't appear and aren't collected; it always shows 0 detections.
On YouTube, video ads sometimes appear, but it doesn't detect them.
I'm using Brave with shields disabled.
My location is: Spanish (Spain) AdNauseam v3.26.2 Brave is up to date. Brave 1.84.132 (Official Build) (64-bit) Chromium: 142.0.7444.60
Same thing happens to me as well, it blocks the ads but it never collects or clicks them
Seems like the same thing I have in Vivaldi
Not sure if related, but it also does not seem to affect at least some cookie notices (for example on https://tinypng.com), although uBlock does block it as expected. Filters are the same, of course.
Same problem here. I only just tried it out for the first time today and thought maybe my DNS filters were affecting it or something. But after trying it on a fresh Firefox install with no other extensions, and ordinary unfiltered DNS, I find it blocks most ads, but only very rarely actually shows that it has detected or clicked any. I intentionally went to many high ad websites, and the blocking worked (saw no ads), but it still said it didn't filter or click any.
I also noticed that even when selecting the setting to block cookie notices, it also doesn't work.
It also blocks the ads for me, but does not detect them, I'm using Zen.

CachyOS, Floorp [email protected]. I just downloaded it today. Sorry if it was my fault.
The one and only collected ad was from Amazon, as mentioned in #1685, specifically in this comment.

Experiencing this issue on latest version of Waterfox on Arch Linux.
Same issue, also CachyOS with Floorp just like HerrJacuch. Blocks all ads, interacts with none, even after disabling every Floorp privacy setting. No idea why that's the cause. Maybe a linux thing? Will try a Windows VM.

Windows VM seems to have the same issue, Firefox or Chrome. Could be a problem with the host Linux OS itself (somehow?). Worth nothing ads also aren't clicked on two Android devices I have, across multiple browsers.
Thank you all for submitting this issue, but this can be somewhat expected behaviour in AdNauseam. We can't collect/click on all types of ads, for example video injected ads on youtube we can't click on them because there isn't a way to both HIDE and CLICK on them at the same time, and on this cases, we prefer to prioritize hiding.
There are some other cases with fancier ad display stretegies that we also can't collect. The advertising agencies are always creating new tricky ways to nest their images and links in the html of the ads so that it's harder to collect it.
And besides, there is location/profile specific context that is hard to reproduce. Sometimes google seems to 'notice' what is going on and stops display ads to that user for sometime, at least thats what I can assume happens.
But we try to keep it with it somehow, usually dealing with it case by case. So please feel free to share specific websites that no ads are being collected where you think it should.
But should not the counter of blocked ads increase, at least? for me it's always 0
actually the counter is for ads collected, not blocked
huh... that's not necessarily obvious. perhaps it can, at least, be an option to show number of ads blocked?
But we try to keep it with it somehow, usually dealing with it case by case. So please feel free to share specific websites that no ads are being collected where you think it should.
Here's some examples I found where ads are blocked, but none are clicked. I agree it is a bit unclear, because it says Clicked 0 / 0 Ads detected. I assume it means 0 clickable ads detected then? arstechnica.com news.com.au theage.com.au telegraph.co.uk cnn.com nytimes.com
Is the cookie notice blocking problem just a related factor of it not being possible to do without breaking other functionality, or should that perhaps be made as a new Issue?
Perhaps clicked/blocked makes sense yes. @dhowe any thoughts?
oh, also what about cookie notices filters not working? is that intentional, too, because they do not track by themselves?
On the Youtube Homepage, ads are being blocked but not clicked:
Without AdNauseam:
(Let me know if this should be a separate issue. Also if you missed it, Louis Rossmann just recommended the extension, so traffic will probably be up for a bit)
This is after surfing for about 30 minutes.
So just as I was about to provide some debug info, I realised that the reason why I'm not getting ads collected (or even ads visible despite "hide ads" being disabled) was because I had Proton VPN's Netshield enabled and it was blocking ads. Honestly surprised that it actually works.
So after disabling that I started getting ads on Firefox.
On Brave I had to disable Decentraleyes (I didn't think this would conflict with Adnauseam since it isn't an ad blocker, but I started getting ads collected once I disabled it). I enabled Safe Browsing and I'm still getting ads collected.
For anyone else, consider looking at whether your VPN settings are interfering.
I also have this issue. I am on MacOS, using Brave browser, I have disabled Trackers & ads blocking from brave shield. I also have Proton VPN but have both tried turning off netshield and the vpn altogether. I also tried to disable Safe Browsing but that didn't do it either. All ads are blocked except for twitch ads but none are collected.
EDIT: Tried it on my windows pc too with brave browser and no vpn, still does not work

Hello,
I was experiencing the same issue on Firefox. I tried disabling DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentails, and after that it is collecting ads.
I think that making the UI more explicit in that it only shows ads that were collected, rather than blocked would be more intuitive, especially moving from uBO, as many users likely are. It took me a while to figure out that areas that would normally show blocked counters were now only showing ones that were detected. Additionally, if one is using a network ad blocker like pi-hole, the stats are much less useful. I expected the menu to be the same as uBO when I first switched from uBO.
