Any plans to make new release?
It is already almost two years since last release and in git repo is ATM commited +1k commits. It would be really good to make new release .. please :)
+1. The new GLIBC breaks this package horribly (#85 has a proposed fix). Seems like a good time to get a new release out.
@kloczek +1k commits is an illusion. The release was tagged from a branch named release: https://github.com/dex4er/fakechroot/tree/release
Comparing with master, we can see there is really only 1 change since the last release: https://github.com/dex4er/fakechroot/compare/2.20.1...master
Maybe somebody should fork it and create a new maintained branch?

Nevertheless it would be to make a new release :)
Note, that in Fedora and Debian we essentially maintain a fork of fakechroot with nearly the same patch stack on top of 1.20.1:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/fakechroot/tree/rawhide https://sources.debian.org/src/fakechroot/2.20.1-2/debian/patches/
Until there is a new release, I'll maintain a branch with the patches that we use in Debian at https://github.com/josch/fakechroot/tree/debian -- I also filed a pull request that contains all those commits here:
Most notably, that also contains the changes that are necessary for glibc >= 2.34 which means wrapping all libc calls that access /etc/passwd and friends.
Nice.
