Signs out everytime OS restarts
Hey guys, I'm really amazed at the brilliant product you're working on, however, there's a bug bothering me every time I start my OS up; It resets to "Sign in with Github" mode and I should sign-in every time.
Not sure why it's like that. Feel free to ask for any information you to debug this. Thank you
OS: Windows 10, macOS Mojave (Same problem)
DevHub version: 0.93.0
Hi, thanks for reporting and for the kind words!
When DevHub is opened, it rechecks the login information. If it fails, it logs out. What do you think could be making your login to fail? Some internet issue?
I see your github profile says “Iran”, isn’t GitHub blocking people from there? If you use vpn, maybe when your computer starts the vpn is not running yet?
Let me know details please.
But if I was correct, than it will only stop logging out after we improve offline support (#46).
Hi Bruno,
About the question of GitHub restrictions cause access limitations, so we need a VPN and this causes problems, the short answer is No. GitHub is accessible to people who are living in Iran, nevertheless, they're restricted to use some features like private repositories ~and GitHub Pages~ (They has opened it). So I think the hypothesis about VPN connection is not true.
Now that I see the mentioned issue (#46) and your opinion, I believe the main problem is that I transfer a lot and I need to connect to different WiFi networks, therefore, I'm absolutely offline until I connect manually. This is causing the issue.
Offline support would work for me, so yes I think it can be a problem for many others too, and it would be great if DevHub waits until it can connect to the API Token it has. otherwise, every time it will log out and needs re-logging.
Best Regards
Thanks for the details! Marked as duplicate then.
I've been facing this lately, I guess we can make a workaround for this without needing to implement full offline support.
I get logged out every day. (That's a bit annoying.)
I've been working with unstable networks lately, so might be related.
In particular, I use a personal access token to get information in a few contexts — this means I have to sign back in via the app login, and then also manually re-enter my personal access token every time.
This would almost be a non-issue for me if it didn't flush the personal access token as well every time.
Here the same, we use AAD-SSO integration in our GitHub orga and it continuously logged me out and even the Devhubapp is installed as Orga authorized app, it asks for every new user request to authorize again.
Any orga-based repo it comes up with:
