URL From The Same Wordpress Domain Is Incorrect

Linking to external websites (not the same blog e.g.) works with no problems. However, when internally linking, additional characters are added to the URL (domain.com/wp-admin/www.URL_I_wanted).

Is there a way to internally link without adding the extra characters?

Did you mean the syntax like [[link]] or [link](link.md) ?
