XCode compilation is an IO intensive task, that SSD speed and machine size matters. Recent reviews reveal that the SSD speed varies across various M1 Pro/Max model. Not only the larger SSD get faster as expected, SSD speed of 16" machine is faster than 14" machine of the same SSD size.
