It would actually be relevant in the OIDC context that usernames with _ or . are allowed.
I am still experiencing this problem in version 3.7.0. When idle, RAM usage is around 330–500 MB, but every few seconds it shoots up to 7 GB for 3 seconds....

I have exactly the same problems... (50k iPhone video/pictures mixed) and also use iCloud in parallel. For me it is 19.06 GB that Immich uses...
@mdecimus I don't think this is a duplicate of #1841 since here it is about the memberOf attribute where groups get initially imported by the group memberships of a user...
@meerumschlungen Are you still actively working on this? @TwiN Is it realistic to achieve a merge here in the near future? I think it would also help with my problem...
@TwiN Thanks so far. Is there an ETA for this large change? Just so @meerumschlungen can plan ahead, it would be helpful for him to know when to schedule it.
As soon as I start without a vendor (infinitescale) for webdav, i.e. without the advantage of chunk uploads, RAM consumption is normal, as I know it from rclone.
Any idea @ncw to solve it? Workaround? :)
Same issue in 5.24.1 & 5.24.2
