Acode Delete Key sometimes deletes nothing

I have encountered an issue where the delete key does not delete anything. This behavior is inconsistent and seems to occur under certain, yet unidentified, circumstances. Even in the same markdown document, you can delete text in some paragraphs and in others you cannot. If I select text or spaces, I can use the Delete key to clear the selection, although it doesn't work without a selection.

Steps to Reproduce:

Open a file in Acode.
Type a mix of letters and spaces.
Place the cursor at the beginning or in the middle of a line.
Press the delete key.

Expected Behavior: The delete key should remove the character (space or letter) immediately following the cursor.

Actual Behavior: The delete key removes spaces but leaves letters intact.

Environment:

Acode Version: 1.10.2 and 1.10.3 OS: LineageOS 21

I use the normal LineageOS keyboard and also tried it with Heliboard with the same effects. Only in Acode there are these problems. Also, when I add letters to a word, it sometimes adds a letter at the beginning of the word I'm writing.

Hi. I'm experiencing the same issue. I think it's related to the amount of text. I was able to reproduce the problem simply by inserting the following text in Acode:

 Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Nullam tincidunt convallis auctor. Quisque blandit tortor vel laoreet sagittis. Quisque cursus euismod urna, vitae vestibulum enim finibus vel. In porttitor lectus lorem, eu ultricies purus dignissim sed. Duis at risus sed enim interdum convallis eget at quam. Praesent luctus malesuada convallis. Cras in massa lectus.

Mauris vehicula justo quam, sit amet dapibus augue interdum id. Aliquam sed turpis leo. Phasellus malesuada porta dui ut rhoncus. Donec viverra enim at bibendum consectetur. Ut non mi ex. Phasellus venenatis feugiat tellus finibus eleifend. Vestibulum viverra iaculis ex sed dictum. Integer quis vestibulum urna. Ut laoreet justo vitae auctor pulvinar. In id libero risus. Integer non velit ac felis euismod rutrum non quis nibh. Morbi a lacinia tortor. Pellentesque feugiat pretium quam.

If you try to delete any character in the last two sentences (“Morbi a lacinia tortor. Pellentesque feugiat pretium quam.”), nothing happens.

I'm using Acode version 1.10.3 under Android 13 (/e/ os version 2.1-t-20240605406922-dev-ocean).

I've run into this issue with the delete key as well using the OpenBoard keyboard. I switched to Futo keyboard and it does not have the issue with the delete.

Apologies for the delayed response. I experience the same issue regardless of the keyboard I use. I have installed Android Keyboard (ASOP), HeliBoard, and 8Vim.

Does the issue have anything to do with Android? I've experienced this in torbrowser as well in the message box of bewelcome.org.

I also ran into the problem that the delete key scrambles the last letters.

I have this issue as well. I am using e/OS, which is a derivative of OP's Lineage, so the issue might be related. I switched to AnySoft Keyboard and the issue seems to have largely gone away, but I am still hitting some glitches.
