What is the problem?

Udunits link broken - it should be https://downloads.unidata.ucar.edu/udunits/ for linux, but, for everyone else, needs alternatives. Homebrew?

KingChaos link broken - no longer supports gdal?

Or are these still even needed?

The combination of terra, tidyverse, sf seem to cover what Kyngchaos used to, and the software package is no longer necessary. They no longer support it either ( https://www.kyngchaos.com/software/)

With UDUNITS, there is updated instructions on using the command line to install it and not the link.
