Control is stuck

When I'm playing the PS2 and a short video or cinematic of the game comes up and I don't press any button on the controller, the controller at the end of the short video of the game stays on and stuck, like on standby but the controller doesn't react and I have to turn off the console to make it work again. Could you help me?
