Crash on macOS in lighttable with focus peeking enabled

Open dseight opened this issue 6 months ago • 3 comments

Is there an existing issue for this?

  • [x] I checked and did not find my issue in the already reported ones

Describe the bug

I was going through photos in full screen mode (Shift + F) and darktable suddenly crashed. Focus peeking (Shift + Cmd + F) was enabled.

The only settings option I changed before was "enable disk backend for full preview cache".

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open full screen mode (Shift + F)
  2. Enable peeking (Shift + Cmd + F)
  3. Go through photos
  4. It might crash any moment NOW

Expected behavior

This happens on MacOS Tahoe 26.1 also. As I'm culling my photos, the moment I toggle focus-peaking mode to be on, the app crashes. If I don't have a collection open, I can toggle this setting multiple times with no issue. But if I open a collection and then toggle it on, the app crashes 100% of the time.
