Monero: Stack wallet isn't responding

I am on grapheneOS (latest release) on pixel 6a device. I gave stack wallet permissions to work in the background with unlimited battery restrictions. However, any time my Monero wallet in stack wallet tries to sync 20k+ blocks using my own node over tor URL (see this comment for details on my setup), I frequently get "Stack wallet isn't responding" window on my phone. This is very annoying and disrupts syncing my Monero wallet.

Lately Stack Wallet on Android (not even GrapheneOS, just regular Android) freezes a lot, especially before it fully synchronized (even the official Stack Wallet Monero node) with Monero. Is that an issue with the app or something? If it's a problem with the app, then can the devs please make it more stable?
