Sony MDS-JB980 not working

Hi, I am having trouble uploading to Sony MDS-JB980. I tried on minidisc web, and came to here and attemped the same with cli tool.

Uploading FLAC (or MP3) fails with the Rejected error.

Many other features seem to work, like:

• device is detected
• listing tracks
• wiping the disc

Copying below a stacktrace, but it doesn't say much to me.

I'm on macOS, M2 MacBook Pro if it helps.

I can do some extra checks, or anything that may help (software engineer here):
