unable to run test file on OSX 10.8

Is there some catch to getting this to work on OS X? I have installed native-dns via npm and I do not get any errors... just after running node dns-server-test.js I get the expected listening on 53 message + a dump of my /etc/host file being cached and then the app appears to exit (I've also tested on an Ubuntu 12.04 machine with the same results)
