Currently I'm working on a project where we have more elaborate tags than just "vX.Y.Z". This change allows custom git commands and translations for that use case.

Joost, I'm now using your version of this useful plugin via [nl.zeekat/lein-git-version "1.0.0"]. This customization does exactly what I needed.

Colin - any reason to keep this out of the main branch? Or would you prefer if Joost or I adopt this plugin going forward?
