They would be able to do everything except edit the board settings.

How would they be able to invite people? Making new accounts, maybe?

:+1: even though the "give them you password if you trust them" thing is good, separate users are more organized.

When I first found out about 8chan's board system I came up with an idea that I've tenatively named modtrips. (Not actually tripcodes, but I picked the name to emphasize their disposability.) Basically, in the board settings menu there would be a section/page labeled "manage modtrips" where you could generate special burner passwords that you can distribute to people to give them mod powers. (I'm not sure how one would actually use a modtrip. Either it would be tied to board creator accounts or the board login page would have a new field for logging in with a modtrip.) On the same section of the board settings page, you would be able to view the modtrips you've already created, assign them aliases to better distinguish which modtrip corresponds to which person, and disable modtrips of people who are shitting all over your board.

This would have to be complemented with robust moderation-action logging so board creators can determine if their subordinates have been taking advantage of board creator absences to wreck shit.
