Giant threads cause browsers to crash

The pinned threads made by @ctrlcctrlv on /b/ are a good example of this problem. Most browsers can't handle loading threads with so many posts and images.

We could implement a lazy image loader like https://github.com/aFarkas/lazysizes, which would: a) reduce bandwidth usage; b) improve loading times; c) prevent browsers from straight up crashing when opening giant threads.
