Fixes #490 : "Invalid Host Header" error in development server for Gitpod
Fixes
- Fixes #490 by @SoundaryaKoutharapu
Description
This PR resolves the "Invalid Host Header" error encountered when running the Vue.js development server in a Gitpod environment. It updates the vue.config.js file to configure the devServer options appropriately, allowing requests from Gitpod's unique workspace URLs.
Technical details
-
Issue Identified: The development server was rejecting requests due to unrecognized host headers generated by Gitpod's custom subdomain.
-
Solution Implemented:
- Updated the
vue.config.jsfile to include adevServerconfiguration. - Set the
hostoption to'0.0.0.0', allowing the server to listen on all network interfaces. - Added
allowedHosts: ['.gitpod.io']to explicitly permit Gitpod's hostnames.
Tests
- Run the updated code in a Gitpod workspace.
- Start the development server using
npm run serve. - Verified that the application runs correctly and no longer throws the "Invalid Host Header" error.
