@coolwanglu I'm still getting this issue, not sure what's wrong with the command line options. The version that I'm using for pdf2htmlEX are printed below:

pdf2htmlEX version 0.14.6
Copyright 2012-2015 Lu Wang <[email protected]> and other contributors
Libraries: 
  poppler 0.41.0
  libfontforge 20180523
  cairo 1.14.6
Default data-dir: /usr/local/share/pdf2htmlEX
Supported image format: png jpg svg

Any help would be appreciated

  1. try to use this version of fontforge: https://github.com/coolwanglu/fontforge.git
  2. reinstall the pdf2htmlEx
