Feature Request: Automatic File Creation/Editing

Problem

Currently, when the Continue extension provides suggestions that involve creating a new file or editing an existing one, users have to manually create the file or navigate to it to apply the changes. This can be time-consuming and disrupts the workflow.

Proposed Solution: The extension should automatically create or edit files when applying suggestions. For example:

• If a suggestion involves creating a new file, the extension should create the file and apply the changes.
• If a suggestion involves editing an existing file, the extension should open the file (if not already open) and apply the changes.

Benefits:

• Improved productivity by reducing manual steps.
• Seamless integration into the development workflow.

Additional Context: This feature would be particularly useful when working with large projects or when the extension suggests multiple file changes at once.

any plan on this? i see a red x and "Continue tried to create a new file at"

suggesting something failed, but i dont see any place to fix this, is it just normal behaviour?

Hey everyone, in case you missed it, they’ve added a new feature! In the chat box, you’ll notice several small icons above the chat. One of them is labeled “Tools.” Just click on it, and you’ll find different settings such as “Auto-create new file,” “Autosave,” and “Auto-edit.
