Expose ability to monitor for console closed

Adds the ability to wait / block on the console and receive notification if the remote tty has been hung up. This makes it easier when using the console with a container implementation, to detect the container process has exited and the console is no longer valid.

Not sure if this is of interest to the maintainers at all. This is mainly for a problem I was encountering, when connecting the console to a container, and the remote end/tty exiting, to have the console client detect the other side has closed the console.

If this isn't useful or interesting for the maintainers, feel free to close it.
