Just some ideas: I'd formulate different process with a different set of constraints that can be specified by the users: for example, with robotic printing we have end effector rotational and directional constraints; with picknplace, we have a fixed set of end effector directions but with usually a discrete set of candidate end effector rotations (think about a two-finger gripper grasping a wood element, we have 4 directions to choose from, and for each direction, we have two rotation angle to choose from). In this way, we can keep the planning-level generic and clean of application-specific code.

However, I don't a clean and elegant python api in mind at this moment. But let's keep this conversation open! I'm super down to adapt Choreo's core planners to connect with compas_fab, with a universal high-level API.

Sorry, mistake.
