A/V Problem - Please Read
Hi all, I have been at it for days trying to solve the problem of blank screen, after connecting my TV via the supplied A/V phono cable (Droidbox T8-s)
I have come to the conclusion that because everything works in Android through the A/V input it must be OpenELEC that is "Not" switching to a lower resolution for Composite A/V, I even wonder if the LOWER resolutions are there, or even activated in the software?
I have trawled over the forums for an answer, and have come to the conclusion that it is down to changes that need to be made to a configuration file in OpenELEC. I am familiar with Putty/SSH but don't know where this file is, and indeed how to amend it. I have asked OpenELEC for help and have been advised to speak to the manufacturer of my box but they say the box is fine, and I need to speak to the OpenELEC team. So you see, I am between a rock and a hard place!
Can anyone help me as it is driving me nuts. If you feel that you can spare me a minute to help, can you keep it as simple as you can but any help would be great.....I am able to connect perfectly when using HDMI but I would like the ability to use the A/V composite output as well if possible.
Any help would be brilliant.... Cheers, Ray.
Unfortunately AV out is currently not supported. It is unlikely that you'll get it to work only by changing config files. It requires patching of the Kodi source code.
Thanks Codesnake, bit disappointing really but to be honest I thought as much. Would it be difficult to make these changes, or are we talking about a "Mega" Job?
If it is just a matter of making/changing a config file, do you know how to go about it, or even better why can't OpenELEC get their act together and sort it out? it is a valuable asset, and to be honest, I cannot understand why it isn't included in what is a superb add-on.
Much obliged to you for taking the time and trouble to help me out mate.... Ray.
It is in my to-do list. But currently I don't have enough time to implement AV port support.
Oh Dear...didn't realise that you were ACTUALLY the man that could implement this - PLEASE accept my apologies...like I said I am really new to all of this, and to be honest it was suggested on another forum, that I should post on GitHub...now I know why!
You say, it's on your to-do list, and you don't have time - Don't worry....it's not the end of the world mate. You know what they say some things are worth waiting for........ Once again, can't thank you enough for even bothering to acknowledge my post........
All the best Ray.
