Feature stage labels disappear when version is removed from path

Issue Description

When removing the version from the path, the feature stage labels disappear, seemingly because it doesn't know the current version (the veresion picker is also confused).

Additional Context

• The version picker is also empty when this occurs
• Expected behavior: Should default to mainline when version is removed
• Actual behavior: Feature stage labels disappear entirely
