some sort of hook to add more shortcodes of our own or purhaps a wiki page explaining the steps required, also move the icon into the tinymce

What kind of shortcodes would you like to be able to add? Could you give me some examples?

I looked into moving the icon to the toolbar, but it wasn't as easy as I initially thought. I will give it another look when I got some extra time.
