I'm looking at working on this issue, but I haven't worked on UIA providers before. My proposed solution: at the place where the UI is updated for incoming (newly sent/received)...
"Collapse all" can be achieved by collapsing the root node, at least on `WinTreeCTRL`.
If a node is collapsed and then expanded, all descendants will be collapsed.
How might this plain text representation look, as distinct from the LaTeX and Graphviz formats?
I'd be happy to consider a PR for this feature! Perhaps doing something similar to the `qtree` generation logic to create nested Markdown lists (maybe generalize that code).
Any updates on this? I'd like to see either option 3 or 4.
I'm not sure – clarification on interpreting the scale would be useful somewhere (even if in the documentation).

Not a bug, see PR #12669. Will be enabled as well in modern versions of Windows Console with #10964.
As an idea, see the visi-range-commands branch on my fork. I've added (global for now) scripts to jump to the first/last visible line in UIA text controls. Does this help/is...
