Any progress on this? I'd be willing to attempt applying my lousy python skills to get this pushed in if you need help. Would love to see this working on Mitaka+

Hi @logan2211. Can you try to rebase it? I want to put more effort into maintaining this project, as it seems is used by many people and I want to make it more up-to-date.
