Adding ReadWritePaths=/var/lib/colord to a systemd unit file in a drop-in fixes this. Fixed upstream in https://github.com/hughsie/colord/commit/08a32b2379fb5582f4312e59bf51a2823df56276
Hi, I have already reported this issue to the developer. The fix is ready but it hasn't been distributed yet.
It looks like there are a few issues at play, but I've backported https://github.com/hughsie/colord/commit/08a32b2379fb5582f4312e59bf51a2823df56276 as a start.
