Describe the bug The clarius app no longer casts to our AI-GUIDE app that we developed ever since the 11.2.1 update

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open Clarius app and establish connection
  2. Open AI-GUIDE app and do not see ultrasound imaging on screen

Environment:

  • Clarius App version: 11.2.1

If your custom App uses the Cast SDK, please ensure you have recompiled your program with the latest binaries (11.2.0 will match 11.2.1 and 11.2.0)

Unfortunately we don't have access to the binaries as they were developed at a previous company. We are currently trying to get the license for that source code but haven't yet. I know this is an unfortunate situation so if it's possible to revert to a previous version on our device I think that may be the best way to go about it, unless you have any other suggestions.

If you are using Android then it should be easy to install our APKs hosted under the Mobile API releases

Sorry for the delay, I appreciate your response. I downloaded the latest APK but there is still no connection between that and our custom app. I'm not very familiar with how the connection works, but if our custom app was built around a previous version of the clarius app, should this new APK work? Just to reiterate, we are not able to make any changes to our custom app at this point in time but would love to get it working for an upcoming demo.

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood your reply in my previous response, are you suggesting I download the newest APK or one of the older versions?

dylangoetz13 avatar May 13 '24 20:05 dylangoetz13

you can go any route, i would just suggest that the App and Cast binaries match for your use case

ok, i tried downloading the 11.1.0 APK because i believe our app successfully connected with that version, however it gives this message when I install it. "App not installed as package appears to be invalid."

you'll need to uninstall any versions of the App that are newer before older ones can be installed

ok, i was successfully able to download a previous APK, although our custom app is still not connecting. I also tried multiple of the previous APKs but with no success on any. Is there anything else that i need to do in order to get that connection back?

dylangoetz13 avatar May 14 '24 18:05 dylangoetz13

do you know what version of binaries your App has been compiled with? also what is the platform your App has been developed on?

clariusk avatar May 14 '24 18:05 clariusk

i'll try to find out, unfortunately it was developed at a previous company prior to my work on the project

unfortunately i am not sure, but after trying multiple apks with no luck i'm wondering if this has something to do with mobileapi being turned off? we had an issue with that once before that was resolved by it being turned back on. since we have reverted back to a previous version, does the mobileapi need to be turned on again? also, if there's a way to hop on a zoom call so we can talk through possible solutions that would be great, or if there's someone else you can refer me to that would be able to do that it would be greatly appreciated. if so, let me know and i can send over my availability for a possible meeting tomorrow.

if you can email [email protected], and let them know your serial # of the device, they can look over the history and help figure out if the licenses are valid, etc., thanks
