📝 Provide detailed reproduction steps (if any)

  1. Load CKEditor 5 into an Openui5 Dialog (sap.m.Dialog)
  2. Insert a link and try to type inside the field.
  3. Insert a table and try to expand Row or Columns dropdown options.

✔️ Expected result

  1. Dropdowns should expand without closing immediately (like the non-dialog editor)
  2. Link field should allow typing.

❌ Actual result

  1. Unable to expand dropdowns (like non-dialog editor)
  2. Unable to type into link field.

📃 Other details

  • Browser: MS Edge
  • OS: Windows 11
  • First affected CKEditor version: 35.2.0

Hi @momiavive,

Thanks for reaching out and for bringing this issue to our attention. We can confirm that we were able to reproduce it.

It's possible that the dialog/modal windows of OpenUI5 are "stealing" the focus from the CKE5 input fields, as described in our documentation article on compatibility with CSS frameworks.

Unfortunately, as of right now, I wasn't able to come up with a solution but perhaps the article linked above could help you with your debugging.

Hi @CKEditorBot, I have faced the same issue while working with CKEditor. When I try to open CKEditor in an MUI modal, the anchor links are not working as demonstrated in the example given by @momiavive
