CRAN release of networkD3

I currently use d3Network (which is outstanding) because i have tried and failed downloading networkD3 from Github (Windows and firewalls). Any idea when you plan on releasing networkD3 to CRAN? Excited to see in Shiny. Also need htmlwidget up there i guess.

Hi @jrtx. I'm not sure when networkD3 will make it to CRAN. Some of the packages that it depends being built by the RStudio folks are not on CRAN yet, so networkD3 can't make it CRAN until they are.

Have you tried downloading the zip from GitHub and then using install.packages on the download?

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I put the zip for networkD3 and htmlwidgets in the same folder as the other packages and ran this:

library(devtools)

setwd("C:/Program Files/R/R-3.1.0/library");

packages<-dir()

install.packages("C:/Program Files/R/R-3.1.0/library/networkD3-master.zip", repos = NULL)

library(networkD3)

gives me only this error:

Error in library(networkD3) : there is no package called ‘networkD3’

So, I can see the folder containing the package, but I can’t get the “System Library” in R to recognize the package. Any ideas would be appreciated. Also, I can’t download the new devtools for the same reason….

Sorry I'm travelling for the next few days so habe to type this on my phone and it won't be as complete as it would be otherwise.

I would google how to install an R package from source. The syntax you have above won't do it. For example you need to unzip the file and inclide the argument type = "source".

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll look into it some more. And thanks again for developing this package. It’s a pleasure to watch D3 in action, especially when you don’t have to learn javascript….

FYI: networkD3 (and all of its dependencies) will be on CRAN shortly.
