Feature-Request: Screen on/off
Just for future-development: (i see you improved a lot on fb.py)
i switch of my raspberry-pi display with the tvservice -o/p utility. if i switch the hdmi-port, my monitor goes into powersave with only 1W standby.
i do this outside the fb.py. maybe its a bit out of scope, but i could thinkoff for fb.py as a full-solution, where the monitor-switching on/off could be at the end of all looping. or over net-sockets/ports. this could extend fb.py to an all-inclusive solution in the future...
Would adding an option to call tvservice -o at the end of loop be enough?
You can also think of calling sudo python3 main.py ... ; tvservice -o to turn monitor off after the end of program.
as i had long-term "FUTURE" in mind, i visioned fb.py to run constantly as a loop on my picutre frame. but how to control this on runtime? i envisioned a net-socket wich receives commands .... something like "change playlist" or "turn screen off"...
so netsockets could be done in fb.py, and some external functions (tvservice..) could be done with calling them from python...
just to explain my idea for a long term design.. :sunglasses:
