RetroPie Stuck at Boot Sequence

Open ghost opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

On your instructables guide, I wanted to set up only the setup script, since I was making this as a computer for my brother as a birthday present. When I ran the script and rebooted, it showed the raspberry pi "rainbow screen", and then goes to a blank screen, with an occasional low voltage warning. Is there some way to fix this?

I've been on a hiatus working on this. I had the frustration that within about a month of me releasing this retro-pie was updated and it caused some conflicts. I'm building an updated version but it's not completed and I don't have enough time to offer full support for this. I can try to help you though. First make sure you get retro-pie 4.3 if you copy the following magnet link into a web browser and you have a good torrent software like utorrent then your torrent software should download it. secondly make sure that you have a full 5v being output from the power c1000 board. I've personally swapped out to using a third party power board with a higher amperage output I was getting under powered too whenever the batteries dropped below about 90% charge. I'm now using a TP4056 to charge the battery and an XL6009 boost converter for a 5v 4A output. it's become a much more stable and higher amperage solution to my voltage issues. I'm in the process of building an updated version but again, I lack the time to offer any real support, I have a family and a 60hr a week job. I wish I had mroe time to devote to support. please feel free to ask if you have questions and I'll do my best to respond

Thank you for replying, and I feel sorry you don;'t have enough time. While I'm not following the project in terms of portability, I do have a 5v 2A power adapter that works well. I will try with the magnet link once I get all my ROMs off the SD card and reflash the image. Thanks once again.

Thank you for the advice, but the old version will not work for me, as I have bought the Pi 3 B+, which will not boot the Pi 3B or 2B image for the old version of retropie. Thank you for the advice, but I found code by riking for the same purpose at https://github.com/riking/joycon. Thanks anyway.

I had the same issue with the blank screen. But that was simply related to the "update" of the /boot/cmdline.txt by the setup.sh. To fix this I just had to replace the XXX-part of "root=PARTUUID=XXX" with the one from from /boot.bak/cmdline.txt.
