Is this project still maintained?

Open roeeyn opened this issue 5 years ago • 3 comments

Hi! I'm new to this world of spacemacs and org mode. Would love to upload directly from my org file to medium, but this repo hasn't changed in more than 4 years. Is this still working? If not, is there some way I can help? I'm not the best developer, but I'm willing to help this amazing project 😄

Thanks for your interest 😄 I haven't used Medium in the past 2 years and cannot tell if the Medium API still works. But since others are not opening issues asking me to fix it, I assume people who are still using it are not having problems, or the few remaining users don't bother asking.

Since I can almost say I don't use Medium any more, and being a working father don't have enough time maintaining the project (I spent ~20 mins in Emacs the past week), I would be glad to see interested users take over the development and maintenance of the project. Issues and PRs are welcome too, although I can't guarantee timely responses.

It seems wrong to ask users to download (or tangle in this case) an elisp file, put it in $SITE_LISP, and require it from the init file in 2020. So I guess a good starting point is to make this into a minor mode and a package. And of course the code needs tidying up. Any feature that reduce frictions in authentication, writing and publishing would be great I guess.

Reviving a dead thread, but looks like that the Medium API is dead. So this project is no longer relevant? https://github.com/Medium/medium-api-docs

Thanks for letting me know about Medium API's :skull: status. In that case, yes, the project should be considered obsolete and defunct. I am setting its status to archived now.
