Application GUI Freezes

When GLib.Process and spawn_async_process_with_pipes () are used for flashing an Image using dd, the GUI (Frontend) freezes. The app then, is recognized as Not Responding and is force quit despite the flash process. START_FLASH

Can some kind of a placeholder be used while the process is going on??
