Baritone cannot find any ores, if it is set to look for exposed ores only - even if there are exposed ores

Open Someonewhoisaperson opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

Some information

Operating system: Windows 10 Java version: Default with minecraft. Minecraft version: 1.16.5 Baritone version: Latest Fabric Other mods (if used): Meteor Client

How to reproduce

Go to a ravine or cave area, toggle freecam, look for gold ore for example. After you have made sure there is gold ore, in baritone turn the onlyMineExposedOres feature on. Then do .b mine gold_ore and it will fail, and say it could not find anything.

The reason why I am using this is because the server using paper anti xray engine mode 2, so I need to tell it to mine only exposed ores. Or I can freecam to find gold ore, then do .b goto but that is not automatic.

Modified settings

Allow parkour is on Allow break is on onlyMineExposedOres is on

Try increase allowOnlyExposedOresDistance value

It picks up only ores below you even when u are underground and it also picks up ores at the very edge of chunks making it super laggy on servers that try to block x-ray

Likely a problem with the amount of ores Baritone scans for before stopping and I'm kind of surprised nobody thought of this before. The problem is that, by default, Baritone scans for a mere 64 ores and then filters based on settings and with half the world being ores this unsurprisingly can lead to none of the found ores being valid targets. The usual solution to this is increasing mineMaxOreLocationsCount. I'd guess something like 4k might be enough and hope that won't cause performance problems.
