How does this play with webpack?

Good question yet I do not have solid experience on webpack's .mjs supporting.

Thinking it'd be better just leave as existing index-esm.js for now and make the cut?

Yeah, this cleans up the config a bit. Which is a plus.

Drop out the second commit and rebased with the master branch, leaves only rollup related changing for now.
