Your buf.yaml should be at the root of your repository, not in dummy_proto.

I'd say yes overall. Readme is a closer call, but as long as module-specific readme takes precedence, then ok.
This was just a drive-by PR and it's actually wrong. This adjusts the default behavior for binary and text formats to discard unknown values, which breaks a lot of things...

Talked offline: it turns out we sctually should make `strategy: directory` respect `include_imports: true` and we have a path forward to do so, so we will do this.
I don't think registry is the right sub-command, but can talk about it.
