Hey, thanks for the report! I added checkbox rendering in https://github.com/brumm/whatsgit/commit/3b286d8353a8518d846e85787551de7cc9f485b3. Unfortunately, these are disabled by default by the markdown-it plugin.

I'll leave this issue open as a reminder for functional checkboxes.
