Nullmailer appends hostname.mailname to addresses without host specification

As described here, I have "myowndomain.net" in defaulthost, but when I send an email "mail user" the mail is actually directed to "[email protected]".

It does not appear to follow the explanation provided in "man nullmailer-[inject,queue]", is it a bug?

Is there really no way to get a hostname not in "foo.bar" format? Ridiculous.
