can we ungoogle/unchromium all of this and make it independent of any of those

Seeing this project rebased on something like ungoogled-chromium would really be the best of all worlds IMHO.

The type of folks using BrowserOS instead of something like Perplexity Comet are likely the same sorts who value their privacy and don't want to be feeding browsing data to any of the large corps.

It would be cool if it could be based on ungoogled-chromium or at least the Chromium base. This would also perhaps help it stay closer to upstream. Last I checked, its Chrome version was 137, but stable Chrome was 141. I don't know if they are backporting, but there are some perhaps useful additions, such as the split-tab window feature, etc., that are good additions to Chrome/Chromium in general.
