Custom citation cls file not working

Custom citations do not format according to provided cls as they do with typical rmarkdown/ bookdown documents. Not sure if this is an issue with pagedown but further investigation is needed.

Thanks for a much-needed package. I have a similar issue. Changing citation style in biblio-style does not change how citations appear in the text. The default citation style works fine generally but the poster I am making requires lots of citations so I wanted to use the most condensed one.

This one is out of my hands unfortunately as it is a feature from the packages that posterdown uses: pagedown --> bookdown --> rmarkdown. If I figure anything out I will post here about it thanks for letting me know though in the meantime!
