Equations don't load bold font when added to slide

When editing the equation in the UI, the bold font shows up fine, however the place where the bold font should be is blank when the equation is loaded into the slide as an image.

Edit: I was using TeX as the input language.

How are you using the bold font. If you wrap your tex with \mathbf{example} it seems to make everything bold just fine.

using \boldsymbol{example} seemed to crash it.
