Connecting to Equations in Groups

When an equation has been placed in a group, it is no longer possible to connect to it, with Math Equations returning the error "can only select one item."

The equation can be connected to again by ungrouping. However, this causes animations related to the group containing the equation to disappear. Ideally, we would be able to modify the grouped equation in-place, with no downstream effects on the slide.
