HoYoplay launcher - Genshin doesn't open

I installed HoYoplay launcher using the link and updated it to latest :-) . The launcher works and downloaded Genshin impact but whenever I run Genshin impact, no window appears and and it re-opens the launcher again (standard for game exit I think).

I tried different runners but mostly ge-proton10-28, updating anything that would be updated (DXVK) I also added GAMEID=umu-genshin to env but all that made no difference.

I can't work out what other launchers are doing to make it work, but it would be nice to get it working in something a bit more organised like this if anyone has any ideas?
