DualShock 4 controller doesn't work in Battle.net

I installed battle.net using the bottles installer and while it plays diablo 4 great, it simply does not recognize my ps4 dualshock controller. I can see in the bottles settings that the device is recognized and I see the joysticks moving around in the testing area so it almost works. It just seems that it doesn't pass through bottles into the game.
