support for new compiler

Dear

I would like to be able make unit test of all boost collection for not yet supported compiler (emebdded system). I have start looking documentation regarding this issue, documentation is quite huge and complex, I can not find simply 'tutorial' or at lest chapter what treat about adding support for compiler. Could anyone help me: how to start? mayby just editing already working configuration or mayby is a template for new configuration?
