Upgrading steps are not clear to frontend n00bs
Hi there, I was lost at the steps on https://docs.bolt.cm/3.1/upgrading/updating.
In step 3 it says to "Make sure you have Composer. If not, get it here". Could you add a step / link to an explanation on how to check if you have Composer?
I am just a dumb frontender trying to install my site. I do not know what Composer is, but if it helps Bolt work, i'd gladly use it. But I wouldn't know how to check for it if my life depended on it. More, since the other steps are really clear ( "Look for a file called composer.lock"), it would make sense to keep this clarity in all instructions. :)
thx! A
:D
@anketwokings There has been a lot of work on this since last August, most recently @bobdenotter and I over this weekend just gone. Could you pass a critical eye over the 3.3 installation docs (I think there might be a slight difference specific to 3.3) and :+1: / :-1: for me.
I don't know if this belongs here. But as a frontender and sometimes having to use shared hosting where composer is hard to get up and running. This has saved me a lot of times: https://github.com/ladyga14/GUIComposer
@zomars Thanks for pointing that out! There is also a secret surprise that @bobdenotter and I are working on for Bolt 3.4 (that should go into beta next week) … "Watch this space"
