File can't be saved sometimes

When I mounted ext4 disk on windows 10 and used vscode make new files, some of the files went lost after I rebooted while some still remained.

Is this still an occurrence?? I want to use this driver to begin my move towards Linux from Windows, as a way to start storing data in a way that I will be able to access from Linux after the switch (just got a new external drive).
