[bitnami/postgresql] image: Upgrade GEOS library to version 3.9
Name and Version
bitnami/postgresql:14.8.0-debian-11-r84
What is the problem this feature will solve?
I'm using the Bitnami PostgreSQL images with the PostGIS extension enabled. When performing geometry operations I'm currently somewhat limited as GEOS is on version 3.8.x in the Bitnami images. GEOS v3.9.x provides a lot of useful new features such as "CAPI: Fixed precision overlay operations".
What is the feature you are proposing to solve the problem?
Upgrade GEOS to v3.9.x
What alternatives have you considered?
Maybe install GEOS using apt-get? The latest minideb base image would provide the libgeos-3.9.0 package.

I just checked with a Debian 12 image (tag 14.11.0-debian-12-r6) if maybe this has been updated automagically... GEOS is still on version 3.8.4 though.
Is this under way, or is there a way I could do the upgrade myself? Or can I in some way order this feature from Bitnami?
Hi @schmandr,
Thank you for the heads up. I've created a task for using a newer geos version. I will notify you in this thread when I have further information.
